About The Role...

Picture this:

You start work every morning smiling and excited for what’s ahead. You work with talented people who do incredible work. You go home (or move into the next room at home) feeling fulfilled and like you’re making a difference as part of a team that truly values your input.

That’s what we aim for every day at north9.

Your role will be to deliver incredible results and an unmatched experience for clients.

You’ll be co-ordinating their marketing strategy and deciding which channels to focus on and when, liaising with the client team to ensure we’re delivering world-beating results and unreasonable hospitality, and ensuring the marketing we do is driving the right commercial outcomes.

We don’t have a traditional line management structure, but we’d love you to come in as a leader and mentor less experienced members of the team and support their growth.

You’re someone who loves a challenge and problem solving, and combines creative flair and ideas with practicalities and operational efficiency to get things done.

You’re great at building relationships with the team, clients and partners, but don’t mind getting your hands dirty from time to time either.

And you’ll have some deep, channel-specific expertise up your sleeve and understand what levers to use and when.

————-

We’re more than a marketing agency. We’re a group of highly skilled people looking to maximise those skills and help everyone in the team grow and develop. We spend a lot of our time helping clients get more visible and make more sales, but we also work on our own internal projects to stretch our creative muscles and create alternative revenue streams.

You’ll be trusted with freedom and given the responsibility to perform to the best of your ability. But you’ll also be given support whenever needed to help guide you on the path you want to go down and keep developing your craft.

We give all the profit we make to educational charities, so the work you do makes a real difference. The better the work we do together, the more impact we can make for people who really need that support.

We’re entering an exciting period of growth where we want to invest in the team and the business, and we can’t wait to get like-minded people on board to drive that journey forward.

If that’s the kind of environment that floats your boat then read on…

What We’re Looking For

You know a bit about us – here’s what we’d be looking for from you. Don’t take this as a box ticking exercise where you need to fit everything, rather a guide on the things we’d love to have which we can use as a foundation to build on together 🙂

  • You’re a marketing fanatic. You love the game and have an understanding across the broad set of channels out there and how they connect.
  • Operational excellence. You get things done and know how to prioritise the right actions for yourself and the wider team.
  • A relationship builder. You can get on with anyone and everyone and make connections that drive results. Switching from conversations with less experienced members of the team to founders of travel businesses and everyone in between comes naturally.
  • You understand how all marketing channels connect and can deep dive in multiple areas. It might be that you’re a social media and community-building expert who knows how PPC and SEO join the dots. Or you’re a technical data and CRM powerhouse who knows how to talk with the creative teams to deliver top results. Wherever your deeper expertise lies, the key is understanding how all the pieces fit together and making it happen.
  • Strategy is at the core of everything you do. You can look at data, chat with teams and understand what’s working and what isn’t. Then make a plan that delivers results.
  • Commercial thinking is always at the forefront of your mind. You connect channel-specific results with business-level outcomes and revenue and can hold your own in those conversations with clients and leadership.
  • You’re actively engaged with AI and using those tools to enhance your workflow and those of your team.
  • Calm under pressure. When the intensity increases you stay calm and collected so that feeling translates to the rest of the team.
  • Communication skills that are second to none. You convey key messages simply and clearly, without jargon or adding complexity.
  • You like change! In an ever-evolving industry and agency environment, you’re happy to adapt and refine what you do to continue being effective.
  • An enthusiastic, life-long learner.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit. We’re a small business and we value people who can take the reins, try new things and make stuff happen.
  • A problem solver. New things pop up every day that we’ve never seen before – do you always ask for help, or work it out and teach others?
  • You’re super organised and can juggle multiple clients and tasks effectively, even when the pressure is on and there’s urgency across the board.
  • Process driven. Doing something once yourself is great. Creating a system that enables lots of people to do it over and over again is even better.
  • Extreme attention to detial. 😉
  • The drive and enthusiasm to achieve results beyond the ordinary.
  • We really value side projects – if you have any examples of these share them in your application.
  • A team player who is prepared to dig in and do the difficult things well and support other areas of the business when needed.
