100%.

Today we launch our Impact Report for our work from 2023, which you can download here

To say we’re proud of the work so far is an understatement. To say it hasn’t been a huge challenge even more so!

But when we stop and take stock of what has been delivered so far it makes all that hard work and those challenges worth it.

488 beds given to children who didn’t have one. 12 months funding for a Kenyan rescue centre. 1 school rebuilt in a remote village in Nepal, giving 130 children access to education and 10 teachers a safe working environment.

Three years ago I wanted to launch an approach to business that helped everyone within our ecosystem.

Our team would grow and improve, joined by more like-minded and motivated people. Clients would get better input and better outcomes as a result of that increasingly talented team. And charities would get more support for the wonderful work they’re doing.

So far so good.

Where we are now

Our team has grown to 24 highly skilled people (and lovely humans), broadening our service offering and allowing us to enhance the core work we do for clients to make it better than ever.

Clients are getting results we could’ve only dreamed of in the past. Not only in travel SEO, but across channels like paid social, email marketing and PR.

And we’ve continued to give an increased amount of financial support to Zarach and Moving Mountains every year we’ve run the 100% initiative so far.

This year that figure is £72,439.

A few thousand short of our target, but close enough to know we’re on track and confident we can still hit our big goals.

We’ve also been able to offer more support and engage more closely with those charities.

Amelia and I have had the opportunity to visit the school in Bupsa, Nepal, which was rebuilt with last year’s funding to Moving Mountains. It was a privilege to meet the local communities who are driving change and doing hugely impactful things with our donation.

“We are very proud and delighted to have SEO Travel partnering with us, not only because of the obvious need to build a school up in the Himalayas but also because it an organisation which understands the ethos of how a sustainable business model can work. The funding provided by SEO Travel effectively expands and maintains our ability to work with the local community in a way which benefits it over a long period of time.”

GAVIN BATE, MOVING MOUNTAINS CHAIRMAN

The SEO Travel team has also had an increasing amount of opportunities to volunteer with Zarach in Yorkshire, helping them with bed deliveries and staffing their food bank service to people in need of that support.

“SEO Travel’s decision to break the norm of the business world and donate their profits to two charities, despite the challenging current economic climate, has no doubt led to hundreds of lives being changed. At Zarach we have been working hard on a plan that will hopefully see us lift 1000 children a week out of bed poverty. This donation has just made this mission feel more achievable and allows us to provide 240 beds. This is 8 full classes of children; more than the size of the average primary school in England. In other words, an entire school of children will now sleep soundly because of SEO Travel’s generous gift. Thank you to all the SEO Travel team for getting out of bed and working hard for this to be possible, and thank you for believing in us when many did not.”

BEX WILSON, ZARACH FOUNDER AND CHAIR OF TRUSTEES

Seeing the work that Gavin and Bex do with Moving Mountains and Zarach is truly inspiring.

We’re in conversation with both charities to understand how best to use this year’s donation to have the biggest and best impact possible.

Game on

These experiences have helped the whole team continue to become more engaged with the work we do, and they are more motivated than ever.

Motivated in two ways.

To support the charities and their work. We’ve seen first hand the impact it can have now, and it only serves as a bigger driver to get out of bed each day and do our best.

And also to do world-beating work for clients. We know that is the source of the outcomes here. It’s no good becoming obsessed with volunteering and philanthropy if we don’t get and keep our wonderful clients by doing top-class work.

And those two things remain our priorities at SEO Travel.

The Future

We have 7 years left to reach £1 million.

To get there, all the component parts need to strive for excellence. Excellence in our people. Excellence in our work. And excellence in our attitude towards making a positive impact.

Three years have flown by and they’ve been incredibly rewarding. But we’re only a few steps into the journey, and we’re pushing harder than ever to achieve the targets we’ve set for ourselves.

Here’s to the next seven being even better.

Thanks for following the journey so far.
