How Carbon Lens works

Audit. Google Lighthouse measures the data transferred while loading the submitted public page.

Check. The page's hostname is checked against the Green Web Foundation's recognised green-hosting data.

Estimate. Carbon Lens applies published energy-intensity assumptions to the transferred data and returns an indicative CO₂e figure and rating.
